In controlled trials, pre\u2011treatment with red light significantly lessened erythema and hyperpigmentation  after UV exposure <a href=\"https:\/\/aestheticmed.co.uk\/experts-reveal-the-benefits-of-red-light-therapy\">comparable to SPF\u202f15 protection<\/a>RLT supports DNA repair: it modulates redox balance, upregulates repair enzymes (such as APE1\/GADD45A), downregulates MMP\u20111, and reduces oxidative DNA damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Repeated RLT sessions improve long\u2011term appearance after sun damage: they smooth fine lines, fade sun spots, minimize wrinkles, restore hydration and elasticity.
